# Configurar o certificado de segurança SSL

O certificado SSL é uma configuração que você realiza após configurar o seu domínio, para ter certeza de que sua loja está segura. Em outros sites, você já deve ter visto que há um “cadeado” ao lado do link, este cadeado mostra que o certificado SSL está ativo, ou seja, é um site seguro.

O SSL é essencial em lojas virtuais, pois garante a proteção dos seus dados e de seus clientes, além de evitar invasões, ele garante que a sua loja seja mais relevante para mecanismos de busca (como o Google, por exemplo), já que sem ele, você não aparecerá nas buscas de seus clientes.
